As an interior designer, it may be a good idea to outsource bookkeeping services so you can focus on your clients. Here’s roughly how much you can expect to pay.

    Why Outsource Bookkeeping Services?

Outsourcing is becoming the norm in businesses around the world for several reasons. When you outsource a team for a project or service, you’re hiring a team that already knows what they’re doing without requiring training. You’ll save yourself thousands of dollars just on the fact that you don’t need to train new hires. The team you hire will also have up-to-date information and have many insights into tax savings since they work with many other businesses at the same time.

When you hire staff for your business, they need a location to work out of, but when you outsource a team, you get the staff without having to worry about paying lease and bills for an office space. This also means that should you need to relocate for any reason, it’ll be much easier to just pick up and move.

Many small businesses may initially be on the fence about hiring help since it eats into profits and adds more complexity to starting a business, but they quickly learn that bringing that level of expertise into their business is a great way to learn from the mistakes of other companies. A good bookkeeping company will pay for itself many times over in the savings they bring you, not just monetary savings but also savings in time. Instead of spending the first few weeks or months of your business launch trying to learn about bookkeeping and taxes, you should be focussing those precious first few weeks focussing on marketing, getting leads, and closing deals.

    How Much Will It Cost?

The average price for bookkeeping services ranges from a few hundred to a few thousand per month. We’ve seen prices as low as $200 per month and also seen prices up to $5000 per month. The large range in price is due to the fact that every company will offer you different services. Although it all falls under “bookkeeping”, one company may only balance your books for a few transactions per month, while another may give you several dozen transactions per month. Some businesses also give you a dedicated staff so you know exactly who to call, and don’t have to wait on hold for the “next available agent”.

Here at Logistis for example, all of our packages include up to 100 transactions, most of our packages include a dedicated support & account manager, and we also give you monthly A/R reports and quarterly financials. In terms of pricing, we have packages ranging from $949 per month for our Essentials package, up to $1,499 per month for our Elevated package.

The great thing about Logistis is that we work with dozens of interior designers, and you can actually see a few of our clients here. Most of our clients have been with us for many years now, and some of them actually picked our services after having bad experiences elsewhere. There are many, many great bookkeeping companies out there, even if you don’t decide to go with us, make sure you do your research and read client reviews and testimonials before picking the company that will work with you.

If you already have an interior design business or are planning to start an interior design business in the near future, feel free to contact us and we can help you in whatever way we can. If you need a company to help with your bookkeeping and/or taxes, we can do that as well.
